Bhavans Middle East—an education enterprise affiliated with Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai—began its journey in Kuwait in 2000 to serve the educational aspirations of the Indian community across the GCC. On 4 September 2006, we opened our first school, Indian Educational School (IES), Kuwait, marking a historic milestone. In the years since, our footprint has grown across the region with high-performing CBSE schools in Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Ajman, Bahrain, Dubai, and Sharjah.
Today, nine CBSE schools nurture over 12,000 students guided by nearly 1,000 staff, delivering rigorous academics, rich co-curricular opportunities, and values-led education.

Our Leadership

Guided by an exemplary leadership team, Bhavans Middle East combines clear strategic vision with hands-on educational stewardship. Chairman Mr N. K. Ramachandran Menon provides overall oversight for all Bhavans schools across the region, with a primary focus on Kuwait, where his direction continues to set benchmarks for academic excellence, safety, and student wellbeing. In the UAE, Vice Chairman Mr Sooraj Ramachandran leads our schools in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah, driving innovation, quality assurance, and strong community partnerships Ms Divya Rajesh Ramachandran heads our Al Ain schools with a distinctive emphasis on instructional rigour and comprehensive student support. Together, this leadership team integrates robust governance with a learner-centred ethos—ensuring high standards in teaching, consistent CBSE outcomes, and a future-ready education for every child.
