Inclusive Education

Our school adopts an inclusive approach, that starts with curriculum planning to ensure all learning activities are accessible to all the children according to their diverse needs. Teachers receive ongoing professional development on differentiated instruction and positive behavior support. A support team, including a special educator and counsellor, collaborates closely with general education teachers to provide necessary assistance. In the classroom, all children are treated with respect and dignity, fostering a sense of belonging. Differentiation is key, It ensures that while all students pursue the same essential learning goals, they have multiple, tailored pathways to achieve them, making instruction flexible and equitable. Basic assessments are done to identify exactly what a student’s academic challenges are; this information then guides to remedial classes, which provide intensive and focused teaching in areas like reading, writing and math. Simultaneously, individual assistance is provided in the classroom which ensures the student fully participate in daily lessons and activities also specialised help is provided to improve fine motor activities, strengthening hand and finger skills necessary for crucial tasks like handwriting, cutting, and overall independence. Social-emotional learning is integrated into the curriculum to promote empathy and acceptance. Outside the classroom, we ensure the participation of all students in all school activities to ensure their full and meaningful involvement. Regular follow-ups are conducted to evaluate and monitor students’ progress, ensuring that the necessary support and instructional adjustments are continually made to facilitate their learning and achievement.
